Rukia Kuchiki

Rukia Kuchiki is the adopted sister of Byakuya Kuchiki, former lieutenant of the 13th Division and later Captain. She gifted her powers to Ichigo in the first episode, setting the entire story in motion. Rukia was found as an orphan in the Rukongai slums and was taken in by the Kuchiki noble family after her older sister Hisana's death. She is short, fierce, and deeply principled, with a sharp tongue and a profound sense of duty. Her Zanpakutō, Sode no Shirayuki, is the most beautiful ice-type weapon in Soul Society. Her Bankai, Hakka no Togame, creates a perfect frozen realm where she becomes untouchable. Rukia is Ichigo's anchor to the Soul Society world and one of the most beloved characters in the series. She eventually marries Renji Abarai and becomes Captain of the 13th Division.
