Unohana Retsu

Retsu Unohana is the gentle, smiling Captain of the 4th Division and the most terrifying fighter in Soul Society's history. She was the first Kenpachi (strongest swordsman) and a bloodthirsty criminal in her youth. Over centuries, she mellowed and became the healer, but when Kenpachi Zaraki needed to unlock his full power, Unohana revealed her true Bankai, Minazuki, which dissolves organic matter into acid and restores life. She died in repeated battle with Kenpachi, slain by the monster she forged. Her Bankai: a sea of blood that can heal or kill.
