Head Captain / Founder of Gotei 13Genryusai Yamamoto was the founder and Head Captain of the Gotei 13 for 1,000 years. His Zanpakutō, Ryūjin Jakka, is the oldest and most powerful fire-type Zanpakutō. His Bankai, Zanka no Tachi, concentrates the sun's heat into his blade: four techniques that can incinerate everything in existence. Yamamoto is stern, ancient, and terrifying — Kenpachi and Unohana both feared him. He died at Yhwach's hands, his Bankai stolen, burned by his own flames. His death signified the end of the old era and the beginning of the TYBW.
